Rashmi B. Halker Singh, MD, FAHS, FAAN

Professor of Neurology
Mayo Clinic, Arizona

Rashmi B. Halker Singh is a Professor of Neurology at Mayo Clinic and a board-certified headache specialist who has spent her career caring for people with migraine and other headache disorders. She is recognized nationally and internationally for her work in the field and is known for her focus on making sure patients feel heard and understood, not just treated.

At Mayo Clinic, Dr. Halker Singh serves as Medical Director of the Office of Belonging and Physician Leader of the Commitment Against Racism initiative, work grounded in her belief that good care depends on patients feeling seen. She also teaches at Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine and previously directed its Headache Medicine Fellowship, training the next generation of headache specialists.

She holds national leadership roles with the American Headache Society, where she serves on the Executive Board as Treasurer and helped launch the Society’s Women’s Leadership Development Program, and with the American Academy of Neurology, where she has chaired the Headache and Face Pain Section. She also serves as Deputy Editor of Headache: The Journal of Head and Face Pain.

Dr. Halker Singh is a founding leader of Migraine Mavens, the first online community created for women healthcare professionals in headache medicine, and a co-founder of South Asian Women Physicians of North America (SAWPNA), a community of around 6,000 physicians. Both reflect something she cares about deeply: building spaces where people can find support and connection, not just information.

Migraine affects hundreds of millions of people worldwide, yet it remains under-recognized and underfunded. That gap is at the center of Dr. Halker Singh’s work, both in the clinic and in her efforts to mentor and elevate the next generation of physicians who will carry this work forward.
